Pandora radio

...rocks :thumb:

Has been posted before but the longer you have an account the better the music gets. Too bad I can't pipe it to my truck on the way to work.

Noticed recently you could add bands to a current station...added Mother Love Bone to my STP station :thumb:

You can listen free anyway, but it times out after 30 minutes or so.

I love it. You can log in from anywhere, give music a thumbs up or down, add bands to each station. And it gets more accurate in picking what you'll like the longer you listen to it :thumb:

I have to admit. I wasn't totally impressed by the collection of rare music I was able to dig up at first, but it's improved quite a bit over time.

I have now been listening to Pandora long enough to have fined tuned the ultimate collection of personalized stations for just about any mood I'm in. Bluegrass, Reggae, Classic Rock, Electronic Music, Jam Bands.. it's got it covered.

I've titled my favorite station: "70's TV Car Chase Scenes" and it consists of some of the most ridiculously funky instrumental jam sessions from the jazz fusion era.

I'm at the point that I wonder whether to have Grunge Reggae Metal Rock or by bands and add similar sounds/moods from there.

Right now my default is Stone Temple Pilots with a whole bunch of Alice In Chains, Cantrell, Nirvana, Peal Jam, Chili Peppers, Mother Love Bone, Metallica mixed in.

Also reggae and Fleetwood Mac.

I like reggae or bluegrass on the weekend mornings.. Hip-Hop is for when I'm cleaning. I listen to jazz/funk while I work, but occassionally I'll throw on some rock or electronic music.

I've also found that if I enter an artist and it starts to play too much random stuff that sounds like "that one album that wasn't that great", or "damn, I knew they did slow songs, but..." The best thing to do is drop the artist name from the list and try to just put your favorite songs by that artist. This will give Pandora a more specific list of musical attributes in which to choose the next song.
