CD-writer or Mother Board?

Post by caleb2229 »

Well Im not sure what I should get first.I only have enough for one of the 2 so what do you think I should get first? A new mother board with procesor? or a Cd-Burner? My computer is an AMD-k6-2 333mhz with 64megs of pc100 sdram and a voodoo3 2000pci.

What is the main use of you machine? Are you dispeased with the speed of your computer? If you need to archive data and make audio CD, then buy the burner.

My first burner I bought in Dec 1995. On a pentium 100MHz.... It was worth it for the extra functionality

I have a CD burner. I know Woopeee. It is good. But what good is it if you can't play the games you are storing on all those disks. Get the MOBO first. If you get the CD burner then you are essentially putting the cart before the horse my little brother.
Of course this assumes you are into gaming and download Warez that need storing. Sorry guys to bring that up but it does exist. Really, isn't that the whole point of your decision?

I'd get the burner first.. then you'd be able to get the next gen mobo's.

Out the 100TX, through the linksys router/switch, down the cable modem, over the Tap, off the bridge, past the node, straight up the gateway, past the head end office....nothing but Net
