Being nasty at WiFi Hotspots

Post by cam123240 »

Just a fun thought for all of you to ponder over:

You just got your brand-new custom laptop. It has the Fastest EVERYTHING in it. You go down to your local coffee shop around noon for a drink and bring it along because it has FREE wifi internet.

You plop down, and notice that three other people at other tables also are using their laptops.

Great you think. They are all on youtube, have 8 other internet windows open, AND every single one of them are using Limewire.

  :(

To say the least, internet speed is going to be A LITTLE BIT slow....

Until, you boot up, double click your Nasty program, and become the only user able to login to the wireless router the coffee shop has. ka-ching.

The other users are dumbfounded, and the teenagers making the mochas behind the counter don't know anything.

Any way to do this? Experimentally/Hypothetically of course?

I'm guessing something that will allow you to login, and change some setting so that only your Mac address, or IP or what have you is the only thing allowed access?? Is this possible?????? :D :rotfl:

Yes, it is possible to deauthenticate a connected client or cause another client to believe your comp is the AP (fake ap). But I am not going to instruct how to do that here! Study the terms/technology via google. And DON'T ever do it anywhere except your own wlan or a friend's wlan, don't use those methods at a public wlan. It is easiest to do w/ Linux. It can be done via Windows using 3rd party custom drivers for wifi adapters with certain chipsets.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
