I purchased one of the thirty dollar green pointers from surpluscomputers. It is only 5 mW, but it has provided for some cheap thrills.

Given the average spread spectrum of a green pointer I have a strong suspicion that video is fake. The size of that dot on a building is something one would normally find witness after 800-1000ft, not "about 2 kilometers" as they claim. Granted it could be a very high end (non-pointer) laser mounted on some sort of aiming device, in fact it would have to be mounted on something at that distance.

I got one of the bright red pointers, drives my cat and dog crazy so yeah it gives some good laughs when I run it over the floor with them chasing..right into the wall
