I had to set a certain dx file in my win32/system directory to get my server up and going..not sure if that would help you or not.

go here to check to see if your direct x is updated

You could try this:

Go to control panel > sound and audio devices > speaker settings > advanced.
Performance > put your hardware acceleration to the first step next to none.
So the second one from the left.
Klik apply .

Now start your game again ,and see if it's better.
Just a hunch , but i've had some games shutting down on me , wich i could solve with this solution.

Good luck.... :thumb:

I just tried your suggestion Outlaw, and it didnt work, but thank you. It seems to happen when there is a change in the game, like right now i am in the sas training camp after the target practice, i have to go meet some guy, i hit the second way point and thats when it just shuts down.

Mmmm , not an expert either ,but seems like a hardware acceleration problem to me.
So maybe it's your graphics card driver then.
I'm having the BFG 7900 GTO card , wich has trouble with the newer nvidia drivers.
This even was advised by BFG techstaff to me ,to use an older driver for the 7 series.

At the time i installed the 168 nvidia driver ,and had a 3D score of 6200 on 3Dmark 05 ,and only 17 % of the normal 2D score on http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/
After installing the 84.21 driver, i had 7800 on 3Dmark ,and 120% on Pcpitstop 2D score ,so the right driver surely makes a difference.......

So i'm using the 84.21 driver , wich had no problems at all till now.
Can't tell if some games will run slower with this driver , but cod 4 runs fine with it.
So try this driver first ,i would suggest........ ;)

P.s. I'm also a member on several COD forums ,so i'll ask around for ya!

i had already recommended one of the 169.0? drivers.. any of the last 3 of that series should work great for you. Just make sure your fully removing them with say Driver Cleaner Pro

Yes ,make sure old drivers remains are gone before installing new one.
Don't know about the 169 driver ,but i certainly wouldn't go for the 168 one.
Because i'm pretty sure this isn't very good for your BFG 7 series card.

Well i've tried the 169.04 driver myself now , and it has the same issues as the 168 driver had.
So it doesn't work well with my card at all.........
Could be the GPU / MOBO combo wich causes this, but i've gone back to the 84.21 driver now ,wich doesn't have these issues with my BFG card.

Any luck yet on your prob Bastid?

no, this rig probably needs to be bulldozed... im having alot of different problems in alot of different places... not just gaming... so im thinking the system is just too unstable for this intensive of a game.
