and it's 'moot' not 'mute', you clown.
no your missing the point.. it wasn't meant to be mean or in anyway jacking of the thread in which your arguing surely is. I don't have that great of a Gaming system but pointing out screen shots from various systems from those that took the shots of this demo don't look that great. When I want to do a demo from BF2 to save and make a movie from I crank up my settings and also crank up the Quality of the demo's server side.... So now that you know that those things can be done to increase graphical images of screen shots and movies I'm sure you now understand how it all works and why I just pointed out the shots looking horrible. It said nothing about his or anyone elses hardware cause perhaps there is a setting he didn't have bumped up or perhaps the drivers didn't install very good.

Also don't forget what I said about your "I know it all about hardware"
since the drivers are still lacking alot of SLI support that being said I've read nothing but low FPS and graphic results with people trying to run dual 8800GTX's SLI setups with this demo.
Its not surprising either how the IQ and the lighting are effected depending on hardware and graphical settings.

Here is a screen shot from a "8800GTS" card all settings on high..and as you can see its more crisp and defined vs the others posted in this thread...
Image

Now when you add the difference between DX9 and DX10, There is more then only that. Light beams/shafts, parallax occlusion mapping, better textures, better particles and lots and lots more depending on graphical settings not to mention the already said hardware.
But I've been following this game since it was still a wet dream to some guy working for Crytek so I'm sure I know what I'm talking about.

Hell, I have seen worse though so I'm not sure if its Fraps or any other software that isn't doing the game justice but as you can see here
http://crysis.totalgamingnetwork.com/fo ... php?t=1069

They do have their differences... nice sandbox editing in that thread too.

There is a patch for those of you that wish to force Ultra High settings for DX9 that is blocked out. This will enable the things DX10 would show for DX9.

Be advised that it will make a hit in performance for certain systems.

enjoy!

It has enough ads/nags when you play the game. Man...from launching...trying to blow past what..6-8 screens til you're playing? Annoying. It's like renting movies now..takes 10 minutes to get to what you actually want to do.

if it keeps the price down on the final product then I don't mind..the first time you play the demo it won't let ya skip them but after that it does...plus there are ways to disable them.

That's my point..I don't want to, I know you can EVENTUALLY get through them...it's just these ads are increasing with games now.

Hopefully it'll have some trick like I do with the Battlefield games..just rename the movies folder in the game directory. Or with the Unreal game engines...edit some line in the .ini file to get past all those loading screens..and the first thing you get to when launching the game..is your game menu.

I find it interesting how little the resolution you run Crysis at affects performance. It runs almost the same (a little worse) at 1920x1200 than it does at 1280x800. Running DX9 / high except shaders and shadow quality it runs pretty smooth at 1920x1200. That said, if ATi can get performance up some with drivers, I will be happy.

man i am so angry... i downloaded it, and some of the files in it were corrupted. YeOldStoneCat downloaded it to his computer too, and installed it fine, and sent it to my computer over the LAN, and even then, it was corrupted :( . oh well, i can play it on his computer. but if i am ever going to get it for myself, i am really going to have to upgrade my computer. even on his computer, which is much better than mine, you could hear his video card, very loudly.

So far...cool, exciting to see a new game engine with all these graphics. Over the years....I'd been looking forward to outdoor first person shooters that have a realistic environment, trees, shrubbery, tall grass, etc.

BF:V sorta brought that to the table...but you still had that issue where you could see players off in the distance..even if they were in shrubbery.

BF2...same thing...certainly better looking...but couldn't lay down in the grass prone with a sniper rifle without easily being seen from a distance.

FarCry...this game reminds me of it. Great outdoors..so far.

Looking forward to what the multiplayer brings with this game...for it to be successful..that's the key. Else it will join all the COD games...great single player til you played it through...but without good multi-player... it's uninstalled and on the shelf.

I feel the multiplayer will be the next big competition game like BF2 was..people just need to move on from the battlefield games cause change is going to happen and so far its to the better. Playing the multiplayer beta I saw lots of potential but they needed to optimize stuff better to make it as smooth as the single player demo is.

I'll have a server of Crysis up and running the day it releases for anyone here to play on! I'll post more info on that when it releases and I get the server files.

I feel BF2 was a bad move, I feel the purity of the original BF'42 and BF:V is where things should be. BF2..with that whole ranking system, destroyed the series. Hopefully Crysis won't follow in those steps.

You always had the choice to play on non-ranked servers where none of that came into play (no pun intended) ....I never understood that 'purity' thing or the fan boys of '42 screaming that the ranking ruined the game....It's still goin as I play often.....even then you always had the choice for it not to change your style of play.

Crysis, from what I understand, will have ranked and non ranked servers and stats...I'm not convinced this will be the next big competition game as the MP beta kinda sucked ....we'll see I guess.

I hope your wrong about the "Ranked" and unranked server stuff... seemeplayme and branzone both have sites up advertising both but if you look at branzone they are charging the same price for both?? I've been asking for months everywhere for something official on if yes or no on the ranked server crap and then if yes, how can I apply to run one?

I mean I read this and I wonder wtf is going on?
http://www.incrysis.com/wiki/index.php/ ... ultiplayer
There will not be persistent stats or ranked servers for Crysis. The prestige points and rank earned in a round will be reset in the next round.

I'll be damned if I go out and rent a over priced and over used server to run a server to keep it populated. Thats what killed the gaming here at speedguide when we all were sitting around waiting on BF2 and got ripped a new one on this ranked junk when we had UOD's box all ready to go for it but nope didn't work and since then |D| has been falling apart like a few other clans that just don't intend to run Ranked servers when the costs are way higher than they should be.

The "purity" thing of "fan-boys" of older style games...before stats came in, and allowed the cheating of those who run off and "pad their stats". Those who would gather and kill each other in a remote area of a server just to pad stats, or those who play 23.9 hours a day...to raise those stats way up and feel superior.

Older style games, such as the prior BF series, or Unreal, or Quake based MP games....it's a nice even keel for everyone, no ranking system...so for those who have a life outside of computers...don't get to play much...but on the rare times they get to play...their skill shows at the end based on real skill..not based on their ability to abuse a ranking system.

I understand but there was the option to play without the stats and rankings so I don't understand how it could have ruined the game for those 'purists'....and if you're talking about people gravitating to ranked servers...well then they weren't purists anyway.

Ranked servers and the unlocking of weapons was annoying in BF2. This similar notion of purcahsing weapons within crysis is the same kinda lame.

Been busy, finished the demo. Wish it was longer :( I can't believe I can run this on high. I can walk and look around and it runs fine. Get into some heavy gun fights and it slows down. Shooting only at a few guys and it runs fine. The game is like 85% playable on high. Very surpised with my system.

First it ran crap on my 3.0 /830 cpu ,and 7900 GTO , and further it isn't my thing anyway , reminds me of Farcry wich i also wasn't a big fan off. :nope:

It's looking like a graphics card sales demo to me ,instead of a serious game.
But than again ,it's personal taste i guess..........

You're right Sava , and it's their choice how hardware hungry they design their games......

But this wasn't my main point , just don't like the game ,.....matter of taste i guess. :)

doesn't matter.. your still suggesting the builders of the games hold back...and they shouldn't. They should build the best and most hardware/software intensive game such as Crysis to out last hardware for a while longer than a few months. They even said Crysis is "Future Proof" therefore the game itself is upgradable to keep up with hardware.

A pure example of this is screen shots they put out months ago against those taken right now from the Demo...clearly a big difference

But you have to take into account that the first shot showing those awesome graphics were prob done on something from here:
