Performance chips?

Post by Rivas »

Good or bad ?

I know absolutely nothing about it or cars in general but I'm looking for some good performance chip for 2004 Mustang GT V8 4.6L
(and no it's never going to have super charger)

Something with usb or serial port so I can connect laptop to it and adjust it.

Suggestions, links, everything would be appreciated, I did use google and yahoo and there are quite a few of them I just dont know the cons and pros.

Thanks in advance.

was thinking about supercharger but I'm not sure if it's really worth the money

I replaced mufflers and air filter and thermostat to get more hp but even tho I still loose against wifes 68 mustang, she has cobra jet engine 400hp wtf.

True.

My chip was necessary to complement the supercharger. The chip alone can do lots of good... but it's not going to get you a better 1/4 time unless your counting .05 seconds. Best to bundle that chip with a turbo or charger.

I changed the exhaust, air filter and thermostat like I mentioned before.
I can feel the difference.
Still not sure about the chip.

Not sure about the supercharger, turbo charger will give you more torque but less HP, your wheels will be spinning but you are not going to move for a few seconds, supercharger is better option, thats what they said in performance shop.

How many miles on the car? A supercharger on a car with lots of miles will probably shorten the life of the engine a lot. Nice thing is... you can always take the supercharger off the blown engine and put it on the next motor. Those superchargers are $$$$$$.

Miles are good. I put mine in at 9,000.

Price sounds right too. However... when you put one in, you might want to think about colder plugs, bigger injectors, better fuel pump, three core cooler, etc.
