I'm with Bastid, I don't get what the big deal is. So she felt like jumping in the ocean - so what? If I lived in S. Cali I might do the same thing. it's too cold to swim here in SF most days. Like has been said, a bra and panties covers more than most bathing suits these days.. so what's the big deal?
I read that before she jumped in the ocean, she'd been somewhere meeting with some suits, and had signed some papers, so maybe she was celebrating closing some kind of deal related to her career.
Her music isn't my thing, although I like a few of her songs.. but I've got no problem with her..and if she wants to jump in the ocean on a hot day, more power to her. I'd also venture to say that 40 guys with cameras following her to get pics of her jumping in the ocean is a lot crazier than her, jumping in the ocean.

right....she's your normal, every day person acting on impulse....right after a couple of failed bouts with rehab and a public shaving of the head incident and attacking a car with an umbrella....y'know ...normal stuff.Gixxer wrote:shes nutz becuase she had an impulse thought to go swimming?

None of that stuff has anything to do with her going swimming though, does it? Would you like people to bring up your past divorce, time you didn't talk to your mum for a year, that dui, that time you got fired from your job, ect, because you decided to take a dip in the ocean? She's human. She may well have done all the things you listed (although she's only been in rehab once as far as I know, and there's no evidence she's 'failed'), but that stuff doesn't have anything to do with her deciding she felt like jumping in the ocean.Izzo wrote:right....she's your normal, every day person acting on impulse....right after a couple of failed bouts with rehab and a public shaving of the head incident and attacking a car with an umbrella....y'know ...normal stuff.

I disagree...she's made her proverbial bed...now she has to sleep in it....one thing to take a casual dip in the ocean on whim ...but in your bra and panties in front of the paparazzi is another....these are same people she attacked with an umbrella not so long ago.... So one minute the 'pap' are eveil men who need to mind their business and the next it's 'look at me, look at me!' and if you believe other reports she was apparently so 'broken-up' about missing her mum that upon greeting her recently they started slapping each other.....y'know ...normal stuff....

if those peeps were in my face 24 /7 there would be a lot more than an unbrella attack on their car .. all her past issues just means that she is human and has probs ... taking a dip with or without pap does not mean anything ... they are there no matter what she doesIzzo wrote:I disagree...she's made her proverbial bed...now she has to sleep in it....one thing to take a casual dip in the ocean on whim ...but in your bra and panties in front of the paparazzi is another....these are same people she attacked with an umbrella not so long ago.... So she's not allowed to ever get over her mistakes? The bra and panties thing - she's not the only person to ever swim in their underwear.. I just don't think that's a big deal. As for the papz - they follow her everywhere. What's more healthy, avoiding a swim cos they'll be there, or saying **** it - I want to swim so I'm going to swim, papz or no papz.Izzo wrote:I disagree...she's made her proverbial bed...now she has to sleep in it....one thing to take a casual dip in the ocean on whim ...but in your bra and panties in front of the paparazzi is another....these are same people she attacked with an umbrella not so long ago.... As for her attitude towards the papz, I think you'll find that the umbrella incident was an isolated case, when she was under a lot of stress. Every other encounter she has with the papz she makes a point to say "hi y'all", smile at them or give them a wave - she's always nice to them. So she flipped out once - again, she's human. She also apologized for that incident - what other sleb has done that? I could see your point if she was consistently nasty to the papz, but that's the only time I've ever heard of her getting angry at them. Considering they follow her day in and day out, I think that's pretty amazing. I know I wouldn't be anywhere near as patient.
As for the last bit - who said she was broken up about missing her mom? I haven't read that anywhere. The slapping thing was reported by a tabloid - I haven't seen a mainstream news source pick it up, or if they have, they give tabs as their source. Tabs aren't reliable - for instance, the tabz said that Courtney love gave Paris Hilton the finger at a gig the other night - I have a friend who was there, watching from the side stage, and that didn't happen. Complete fabrication. Even if it IS true though, we don't know what's going on in her life.
I respect that we have different points of view, btw.. I just think some people run Britney down cos it's fun to, when in reality she really isn't very "bad" or "crazy" at all. There are far worse people in the world. Like Michael Vick. If what's being said about him is true (and it seems to be, there are reports in the mainstream press that people have come forward and said yes, I bought and sold fighting dogs from him), then he's a scumbag who's truly worth of the public's derision.
