This is for an ISP given speed of 384 kbps in the Philippines.

What speed are you getting with these settings?

If you surf to the US often, do some speedtests to a few test servers in the US and post your results. From the latency values, we can calculate an appropriate TCP Window.

From my reading of the TCP Optimizer manual, the DefaultTOSValue of 240 (x'F0') would not be a legal DiffServ value but would be a valid ToS value. This raises the question: When is the DefaultTOSValue taken as a ToS value and when is it a DiffServ value?
Thanks........John

i think yes..because that 240 Tos value is from the calculation from the cablenut..

The table of this thread - DiffServ Codepoints (first 6 bits) in order of precedence, under 4. Advanced Settings gives you the values of Diff Serv that have equivalent value in ToS:

I used the speedguide TCP Optimizer manual to form my original question.
There is a note at the end of the DiffServ Codepoints table that says:
Values not in the above table can get reset to the default (0), or have the connection reset.
What I am asking is when is the value in ToS/DiffServ considered to be a ToS value (and possibly invalid DiffServ, but not tested) and when it is considered a DiffServ value to be tested for validity against the Codepoints table? How or what makes this decision and does it depend on the server or what?
Thanks....John

This would be very advance info. Suggest you search Google for ToS and DiffServ, read up on how they are derived and what they do and where they intersect.

Much depends on how network developers set their system. Some intermediate routers do not recognise ToS and Diff Serv codes placed the data packets.
