Security Issue

Post by Pettos »

Oh deary me.

My first issue on these forums.

Alrighty, somehow the other day i downloaded something and ran it without running a scan (first time in ages... always the way...) Anyway, it had activeX on it, and my computer hated it. So i deleted it all, ran spybot, registryfix, and got rid of the cookies and other crap i've picked up over time... but i'm still getting this same annoying arse message.

But the thing is, when i try to download the program it tells me to, it has a cry at me because the file it right protected. So i can't download it, and Symnatec is blocking it from accessing my computer.
This is the program its suggesting:

Spylocked is spyware, not a removal app.

Follow my directions HERE.

Sorry, I've been up all night. And sorry about that Pettos, I get a lot of spammers and sometimes whole ISPs get blocked from foreign countries, here you go:

1. Disable System Restore then reboot your pc, this will delete all old restore points.

2. Download and run CrapCleaner, this will clean out all of your temporary and junk files.

3. Do a free online virus scan from BitDefender and remove all that it finds.

4. Download, update and do a full system scan with SpyBot Search & Destroy and remove all that it finds.

5. Download, update and do a full system scan with Ad Aware SE and remove all that it finds.

6. Download, update and do a full system scan with SUPERAntiSpyware and remove all that it finds.

7. Download, update and do a full system scan with AVG Anti-Spyware and remove all that it finds.

8. Download, update and do a full system scan with Windows Defender and remove all that it finds.

9. Download and do a scan with HijackThis 2.0 and post the results here in the forums so I can assist you.

10. Download and update SpywareBlaster tp help stay malware free.

11. If you are not already using Kaspersky Anti-Virus, BitDefender Anti-Virus or NOD32 Anti-Virus then uninstall your current anti-virus program (Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro etc.) and install Active Virus Shield. The setup instructions are here on my forums.

12. Do ALL of the latest Windows Updates to ensure your OS is patched properly.

Just for future reference, i believe you got "Spy Sheriff" on your PC, that crap is hella annoying, along with Smitfraud, pretty much same adware/spyware. There is a particular remedy for it along with what was posted earlier. Its called Smitrem, just google that sucker. In case you run into it again heh :)
