Anyone know a safe way to get a XP cd?

I need a LEGIT cd or an iso of one. I loaned mine to a friend and he never gave it back to me. Now he is in South Africa. All I have is the piece of OEM cardboard with the genuine cd key I stuck to it. It's sp1a if that matters.

I called microsoft who told me to call newegg (who I got the oem from) who told me tough **** on a replacement cd.

My new raptor came and I'm itching to get off this failing hdd I'm on now.

Any ideas?

If you have a legit key just borrow a friends disc.

I was trying to think of someone to ask who hasn't gone home for the summer (in a small college town) but no one comes to mind.

That's why my friend borrowed my disc, by letting him borrow it I put myself in his predicament : /

download the iso from usenet, just make sure you have the correct version of winxp.

If you have any trouble with such an endevour, let me know.

I found a sp2 copy and it worked.

I think microsoft got sick of me calling all the time to activate my copy of windows and just set it to let me activate over the internet every time without fail.

Heres a Bug in XP SP2 that people been having issues with involving svchost.exe and 100% CPU utilization..

as of May 14th they finally admit to a problem..

thats the support article on the problem so many have suffered from. I will NEVER buy another Microsoft OS Linux here I come..

A safe way to get an XP cd is walk,

don't run, bicycle, or drive to the store

JUST WALK, and look both ways before crossing any streets.
