Content Filtering ?

Post by TeddyTed »

Not sure if this is the right spot for this question but here we go...

I'm looking to apply content filtering to a workgroup 15 XP machines in a public environment.
My first thought is to replace the Linksys I’ve got setup with a Sonicwall TZ 170 Wireless Appliance (25 Node) series, and then implement content filtering.
I'm just not sure if there are other solutions (just as good) out there that would be less expensive.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Some less expensive solutions..other than going with off the shelf products such as Sonicwall, Juniper, Cisco, Watchguard, etc...

...linux router distros such as IPCop with Copfilter, many add-on packages such as Copfilter, Dansguardian, Squid, etc, or another distro like Endian. Take a small form factor PC, mid-P3 or higher, 512 megs...2x NICs..and there's your router with lots of powerful features.
