sectarian violence seems like a way of life in that part of the world. They'll probably have to have another despot in place for any chance to live "peacefully"

 just what I was thinking .... I don't think they're ready for democracy ... they need to be ruled w/ an iron hand.

Sadam may have been a really bad guy, but when he was in power the country was secure - I think that's what the average Iraqi must look at and wonder about ...

LOL secure?

The guy used to hang his own people for something as little as cutting class. It will take time.. but there are still alot of people there with the belief that """"Allah"""" will set their souls free if they bomb a whole bunch of innocent people for no reason.

It will take more than a lifetime. It will take trillions of US dollars, and it wont work. You can't force a democracy on them.

I can only wish peace for them. It's not going to happen in my life time.

Suddam was a despot and a prick, no doubt about it.

For the average Iraqi though, life was much better then. They might have freedom now but it comes at such a high price.

Oh yeah, put another Saddam type in power, that's a great idea Image

No country deserves to be led by an evil and violent dictator, to say otherwise is ridiculous. Just because they've never been truly free doesn't mean that they don't deserve it. Iraq, and the rest of this world is a better place without Saddam and his kind, no if and or buts about it.

They don't deserve it because they didnt fight for it, our soldiers did, and they still don't support us.

We've done enough to help them, time to step back, let them fight against each other and when we know of "terrorist" activity, strike it.

do you honestly believe that? I also think we should leave but Im almost certain they won't all the sudden throw down their arms and live peacfully. Another Islamic Rebuplic or worse is what is going to happen and if the US is there or not blood will be shed to build it.
