Is there a way to lock the history in IE6? My objective is this; I don't want anyone that uses my computer to be able to delete history.
I am running Win98SE.
TIA
Putting a lock on history in IE.

If you are use Xsetup just use the History security wipe. Then check your history folder if you find a index folder. Delete it. It won't hurt the system. I do it all the time and it will not come back, GoodLuck!

And this will prevent others from haveing the ability to delete the history on my PC? I would like to crear it once in a while as well. Thanks for the replie Storm90
You could try going to c\windows\history folder and setting the folder properties to "read only" when you are finished using your computer. You will have to uncheck that box when you use the computer again in order for IE to write to that folder. By default there should be a grayed out check for "system".
I do not know the outcome of this but hey, who knows, it may work!
Another option is to make a copy of that history folder every time you stop using your computer and then replace the history folder with your copy each time you return to use your computer. This could probably be done with a .bat program that you execute prior to shutting down or ending your session.
