I think this guy is right

1: It has been doing this for years, suddenly taking offense now is a bit late.

2: It is going after nuclear weapons because GW Bush, just prior to invading and overthrowing the government of Iraq, named it on his top three places he would like to invade. Further, Dubya, rejected an Iranian treaty whereby Iran recognised the state or Israel in 2003. Further, Bush wasn’t exactly taking yes for an answer from Iraq. Right now, going after nuclear weapons is not only morally justified from Iran’s point of view, it would have to be stupid not to.

3: If it is officially, the fact is that it is no different to what America did to Iran and Iraq under Reagan. If it is doing it unofficially, the fact is that it is no different to what countless Americans did to ENGLAND with the IRA.

Now for the other reasons:

America is already engaged in two wars, neither of which look like winning propositions. Afghanistan, has never been an easy country to conquor, and Iraq is just getting started. Further, America is short on troops. (Long on technology but that comes later.)

A simple bombing campaign with conventional bombs will mean Iran declaring war on America, a war which will see the whole of the Middle East joining the side most likely to win, and in a conventional war that side is Iran.

A nuclear bombing campaign will mean WWIII, with China and America on opposing sides. Here is a little secret: China is your major fiscal backer. You piss China off, it calls your loans. With the rest of the world boycotting America, due to atomic war being the last great horror, your economy is going to go to ****.

Thus a conventional bombing campaign coupled with a land invasion is the only likely possibility - but you don’t have the troops to pull it off.

In other words, there is no win scenerio in Iran.

It's always been a possibility, and likely reality.

All they need is a terrorist attack of some kind to justify it. In the aftermath of the attack, an ID card of one of the terrorists that drifted through the fireball but remained in pristine condition will be found next to a bag full of Korans and pictures of George W. Bush with devil horns drawn on them. Probably a letter typed in Word that reads, "Iran did it" will be in the vicinity, too.

Then, the bombing will commence. Gotta spread that democracy.
