As to be expected with such serious surgery it's a long hard road to recovery for Tink. Fluid retention and it's inherent problems are the focus now and this wasn't helped by a mistake with her prescriptions. This has been resolved and she is resting now.
She sends her regards and is in fine spirits but has to keep her legs elevated so apart from the email i received sitting at the computer is banned!

You summed that up quite nicely Forgetful. I'm glad you have the responsibility of posting the updates.Forgetful wrote:As to be expected with such serious surgery it's a long hard road to recovery for Tink. From everything that's happened so far to Misty throughout her surgery ordeal, I really have to wonder about the state of health care in Cali. The foulup w/ the meds is pretty scary.
Misty was in great spirits late Thursday nite and planned to post here Fri. I knew something was wrong when she didn't show and no word until yesterday.
I hope she's resting...

lol. No disrespect bro, I have to try and laugh, I'm worried...
Misty told me the same, just emailing us- and then no computer for 2 days.
I think she was sending units off #3 too...

Hiya Guys and Gals,
Well I must say, my story has never ever been dull, and continues it appears to be somewhat of a roller coaster ride to say the least. After a great deal of progress, upon coming home, working hard, following instructions, directions for the most part...and enjoying my "happy feet", even though extremely painful. Sounds good, eh? Then ka boom!!! My entire body blew up on me very very quickly to a 3.5 edema stage, the left leg ulcerated on me, and the opening to the femerol artery incision as well....With great diligence one of my home nurses discovered the problem. The main medication that I was to be taking upon coming home was mis-sent to me. I was supposed to be taking 60 miligrams of lasex daily, down from 100 miligrams given in the hospital. The pharmacy filled that one incorrectly, thus...I had been taking only 20 miligrams of it daily since being home. Infections ran rampant again, high fevers, physical therapy stopped, back to square one...one more time.
God Bless the nurses. They have pulled me out yet one more time, and this time without a return visit to the hospital. They would have to HOG TIE me big time for that one! They had their shot!! Today I am allowed an hour in a sitting position to see how I respond to it. I see some swelling returning to the ankle area already in 15 minutes...so I will monitor it closely.
I soooo miss you guys...know that I am high in spirits still however, my heart is here...and I WILL climb that mountain ...one more time!!
John...I am so sorry I missed that phone call. I do have my phone by the hospital bed...and can make and receive calls at any time. Perhaps I gave you the puter line number? instead of the main house number? I have no need to keep that one now as strictly a business phone, as that will be a great deal of time down the road again, if at all. Check your pms please.

Every normal man must be tempted at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.
