Raid 0 vs raptor

Post by yikes »

Hi,

Im trying to decided between going with a single disk WD raptor (74GB) setup vs dual 7200RPM drives in raid 0. Which will be faster, and provide greater performance? Im also looking for reasonable quiet setup. This machine mainly will be used for gaiming, and im looking for quick load times etc...

Thanks,
YiKeS

I think the raptor would be the best long term, but some of the newer 7200's are pretty quick and Raided should make them competitive with a single raptor.

the newer seagate 7200 version 10 drives might be quicker in raid, I'd rather have a raptor though.
