Ya, the ranks are nothing like BF2 ..I mean it's only been out 2 months.....lol.
I had a 2.60 ppm and a 2.00 k/d ration in BF2 and I have a 1.81 and 1.90 ratio in 2142....meh
You can get ranks pretty fast, but every rank you need more points between each rank. But with 40+ unlocks, it should be easier to receive them.
It's not that the game sucks, it's that I think people dont care the the future type stuff. Mech walkers, hoover tanks. But the overall game such as the infantry maps totally blow BF2 by far. Kinda wish EA would port over the infantry 2142 maps for BF2. I find the game much more enjoyable, minus the damn gaymores all over the place, LOL. But I have the same feelings in BF2 regarding those damn things...hahahaha.
So how do you like it?.....I've seen you on once or twice but have yet to hook up with you in-game....I've put in a few rounds with Sito and athe |D| guys

i Don't like 2142 because you're playing in the future, I prefer to the history and now. I have all the BF games and i like vietnam most but now i am playing bf2 most off the times.

That's the very reason I like it. It cuts down on people whining about the lack of realism on weapons, vehicles and such. "Dude, the M16 is so underpowered, WTF was EA thinking?" kinda horseshit.

there are some silly reasons some don't play this game.

You should try Titan out. It works better for us elderly folk. Conquest is for a 15 year old jacked out on caffeine. We don't stand a chance.
Only difference with conquest is instead of charging in yourself ...let the noob in front of you doit first ....then clean up the mess.....once you get used to the toys(unlocks) they give you in 2142....you can be a mobile UAV and know where the enemy is at all times.....
I usually just play conquest, but only played titan a handfull of times. The last week or so I've been playing a bit mort titan as you get get a lot more points. But I still prefer conquest as it has more action in it for me.
Check out the Voss as well. A quality gun for assault. That's about all I use. Kill / revive is all I do, LOL.
Camp Gibralter is my favorite map for 2142. No stop action! I love it! Especially what Izzo said, 64 players on that map is just awesome! Just as long the server can handle the load. It can get pretty laggy in certain area's where there's about 40 players in that one bottleneck area. Fun though.

......and the Netbat helmet is the bomb......those little red diamonds?!....those are the bad guys....spot 'em on the comm rose and your squad mates can see them also.....it's a slick little setup....it shows what kit and the health level of teh bad guy ......slap a PDS on an Otus drone and you are literally a walking UAV for your squad.

Heh.....there's a bottleneck at every flag on Gibralter.....

The bauer is ok ...only good for CQC situations really...don't expect to pick people off at distance like with the G36E/M16/Ak like in BF2.....it just won't happen .....
