Using a software based internet connection sharing...such as, if Windows ICS.

Not very reliable though....and depending on your router, and/or ISP..you may have to plug in your ISPs DNS servers manually in the TCP/IP properties of the wireless NIC on computer 2....as having a double DNS forwarding thing sometimes get sloppy.

I have a similar set up between my home office where my primary pc and router are and my workshop. On computer 2 I have Windows 2000 with internet connection sharing enabled and computer 3 connects through a switch to computer 2.

So, it's has been awhile since I got the time to do stuff with the computer. So I am having trouble connecting the 2 computers, they both say local area connection not connected or something like that, its the thing that shows the X through the computer symbol. Anyone know how to get this to work? What I need to do is set it up so the one computer uses wireless to connect to the internet and have a second computer connected using ethernet to the wireless using another NIC card. Like this

COMPUTER 1

|wireless| ))))))))))))))))))))))))))) (((((((((((((( (router)

|Ethernet NIC|-----|
|
COMPUTER 2 |
|Ethernet NIC|-----|

Anyone?

OK READ THIS FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE!

So I try to connect the two computers, but they both say they aren't connected.. I tried to bridge and gateway but they wouldn't work because the two computer weren't hooked up.. but I DID have them wired together with an Ethernet wire, nothing wrong with the wire. Any ideas?
