Hiya!
I will be in intensive care after the surgery for between 24 to 48 hours...wanna come cook for me? ;) I have a hunch I will not much care for their "pole" dinners in there! Total time in the hospital is a range of 5 to 10 days, depending on how well I do...and if in fact they can do both legs at the same time, which will be the attempt, however it would be a tremendously long surgery if they can...as I have been told the right leg alone will be anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 hours in itself. I am banking on 5!! 10 and I would be stir crazy for sure!! Thanks for asking :p

Not yet Debbie gal :( The approval has to come in from the insurance first, which I honestly do not even expect until Monday, with the holiday delay and such. THEN it goes for the actual date and set up day and stuffens. The Surgeons Office and or hospital is supposed to contact that me with that info, as soon as they receive either or both. Well...I might be just a tad of a doubting Thomas here....gee...I wonder why!! I will stay on the phone bugging them, until I have the answers :rotfl: they will get them fast enough then...just so I leave them in peace! That practice has saved me more than once. On the last surgery...the same thing was in play...I called to check on the progress at 4 or 4:30 one afternoon..and found I was to report for surgery the NEXT morning. What? Nobody called you? Ummmm...see why?

Mini update gang!

Someone should make a movie out of this entire episode!! I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point. If you have been following this thread...you know I was referred to a different surgeon...one who does the procedure now required after the failure of the last attempt of repair. This is a joke!! I just called in to see what the progress was...and discovered...I have been referred back to the previous surgeon..who can in FACT...proceed with the surgery of both legs at the same time..that of course would be my choice..get 'em both done at once!!

Geezofratzenheimers!!! So yet another approval was sent in...because it came from a different surgeon, and as I understand now...it might take a bit longer to get that..because of the hospital length of stay afterwards, and the rehabilitation as well afterward..no doubt there now..its a definite. Crumb dumb!!

The approval will probably be in by the end of this week. This is getting SOOOO old!! Thanks for hanging in with me guys...you have helped keep me going.

Round Eye!

What a pleasure it is to see you amongst our boards again. You are sorely missed. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this thread. Have no fear...I am a fighter, and my spirits are still "lets go get this thing" NOW! The last word there seems to be one they do not quite hear. :) With all the switchbacks, and indecisions with this case...it may yet be awhile before the final approval is in..and because it will be such a lengthy hospital stay...so be it! I am hangin' in there!!

Thanks for your support, as well as to the many many others here who keep me going. A pretty special bunch...thats for sure! :thumb:

Misty,

Hang in there G/F! You have so many people thinking about you and praying for you. You're one of the strongest and most determined people I know. That spirit will get you through anything.

Love ya.

Thanks Robyn!

I do appreciate the kind words, and you taking time out to visit my thread as well. Time cannot be easy for you...time for yourself that is...very difficult to be working as much as you are to help keep an ailing parent comfortable and in good hands...you are full of heart and spirit your own self gal..and I love ya for it! When that times arrives, rest easy in your heart..knowing you have done all you could possibly do.

Misty... when you are on the table about to be taken into surgery, I will be there. I'll have a mask on (appear to be a doctor) and I'm going to "check you out" in detail as you fall asleep.

Trust me. ;)

Thanks Lefty! :) Tis the speed I pray for at this point. My bag has been packed so long...that I fear I should take everything out and wash it!! No call s yet, but I was warned this ok would probably take longer, just from the sheer complication and the severity at this point. I never did like purple for a toenail polish color!!

Kind words Rivas...thank you very kindly. Helping others, when you can, is the best way I know of to "get out of yourself", and still remain of some value...no matter what the personal condition, trials or tribulations that are being faced.

I have received and still am...some absolutely incredible support here as well..unbelievable strength can be drawn from here...and may it always continue to be so for those who need and appreciate it. Indeed a place and people to be grateful for in my life.

Dont need to thank me, it's true, just because sometimes we do have different opinion it doesnt mean we are going to flame/fight each other.

I appreciate your support very much, you helped me a lot at the beginning :thumb:
