To me this is just plain dumb.
The former neighbour of a guy I know passed away recently and had appointed him as Execetor of his Estate that was to go equally to a son and a daughter as the only family left.
A condition of the distribution was that if there was ANY contest to the will, all the proceeds would be turned over to charity. Both knew of the condition 12 months before the old guy died and as the will was read.
The son had no problem and was prepared to go with the conditions and divide the estate but the daughter wanted more.
Forced into the corner the executor ordered the proceeds to charities as per the instructions.
The value of the Estate......... au$15m.
Would you do this or shutup and accept conditions.
