Daughter contests will.........

Post by Croc »

........ and loses the lot to charity.

To me this is just plain dumb.

The former neighbour of a guy I know passed away recently and had appointed him as Execetor of his Estate that was to go equally to a son and a daughter as the only family left.

A condition of the distribution was that if there was ANY contest to the will, all the proceeds would be turned over to charity. Both knew of the condition 12 months before the old guy died and as the will was read.

The son had no problem and was prepared to go with the conditions and divide the estate but the daughter wanted more.

Forced into the corner the executor ordered the proceeds to charities as per the instructions.

The value of the Estate......... au$15m.

Would you do this or shutup and accept conditions.

If it was equally divided between the son and daughter, there should have not been a problem John. Sometimes we pay a price for being greedy. She should have just taken her share and be done with it. It was stiupulation in the will. She should have known better. Maybe the father knew this would happen when he died.

One Australian $ is worth us75c Prey.

That's us$11.25m or us$5.625m each, for keeping the greed at bay.

Debbie, I agree totally. The father knew his kids didn't get on. The only thing now is the rift between them is wider.

I say the guy should've gotten his share and the stupid woman's share should've gone to charity.

Looks like this was dad's last ditch effort to try & resolve the childrens' conflict w/ one another. Must be years of transgressions between them in order to end up like this. Too bad. For 5mil I'd wash my sister's feet daily for a year if she wanted.
