Yesterday morning i received a tearful call from my Mom stating that my older Sister had called and her leg had no feeling in it and she was in a great deal of pain. Shes had veins replaced in her legs and it sounded to me like there was a clot or something happening.
My Mom said she was going to go over to her apt. to see if she could help and get her to Emergency.
I told Mom she was in no shape to be doing that as she is still on a walker and my Sister needed prompt attention and asked her to hang up and I'd call her back.
I called 911 and had an ambulance dispatched immediately to get my Sister, not knowing if a heart attack might take place at any time. I then called my Mom and told her that the ambulance was on its way and so was i.
I jumped in my truck and off i went to my Moms as quickly as possible. 40 minutes later i got to Moms and we set off to the hospital to see how things were.
My Sister was going through a battery of tests when we arrived and a few minutes later they brought her to an emergency room. She was pleased to see us and more than a little nervous about what was happening and full of morphine which wasn't doing a lot of good from her perspective.
Her specialist was on his way. We stayed for 3 hours and she was starting to drift off so we asked what was next and they where still awaiting the specialists arrival and then there'd probably be more tests.
We said goodbye to my Sister and left so she could sleep.
Went back to Moms to await their call on her condition and treatment. 4hrs. later the phone still hadn't rang so we called and where advised they where doing more extensive tests on her.
I figured she would be kept overnight and said goodbye to Mom and off i went home, telling Mom to call me anytime when she heard anything.
11pm Mom called and she'd finally talked to Pauline and she was slated for surgery this morning sometime to replace the vein again, for the 3rd time. She was quite anxious as you can imagine as it ties you up for months before you feel better and are able to carry on as usual.
I am going to call my Mom at 9am this morning to see whats up and will probably go to her place for a couple of days to drive her to and from the hospital etc. as i don't want her under that pressure on her own.
I also lost a good Friend yesterday. He was 73 and a really nice Fellow. He will be missed by many.
I hope you can spare a moment and a Prayer for Pauline and my Mom that all goes well and the operation is a success.
Thanks, i do appreciate your kindness,
