Firefox Not As Safe As We Thought?

Funny to how defensive the company is and that the flaw shouldn't have been pointed out. Aren't they the first ones to rub it in when a flaw is found in other software, specifically MS software, such as IE? I'm sure the company would have rather just never addressed this critical flaw and just let it be.

No browser on Windows is really secure. Linux versions are more secure.

It's had over 1/2 security issues of IE over the past year...it's catching up with problems. Well..more like the targeters are catching it...as popularity grows.

The particular Javascript flaw that is being referred to is present in Windows, OS X, and Linux versions of the browser. The flaw will be fixed soon enough and life will go on.

I liked the Diggite's response best:
digg wrote: Article: "It makes you wonder why people always say FF is the best browser."

Response: "Maybe because each Firefox flaw is worthy of a news post, while Internet Explorer has so many that noone bothers to write about them anymore."

One of the guys who presented the "isue" admitted it was a joke. However, his statement was released as an announce VIA the Mozilla Group, as a spokesman for them. So....did mozilla get the guy to recant in order to reduce attention on the potential sec hole or was the guy honestly admitting it was a hoax. Time will tell...

The only reason browsers are "more secure" is because not as many people are on them so not as many hackers are trying to get into them. Just as the mac. Once that started to become more popular, oops people could get viruses.
