Getting new Notebook

Post by TheyCallMe____b »

C2D @ 2GHZ
7900Go GS gpu
only 1 gig PC4200 ram

Y'all think BF2 will be playable w/ only 1 gig?
If I do upgrade to 2 gig will 533 be OK or should I get 667?

Haven't kept up w/ Intel lately, but they can't be ignored anymore.

TIA

I would stick to 667

BF2 should run fine on that system.

Cool man, thx for the advice.

I'll give it a whirl when she ships.
If I'm not happy w/ it, I'll get more RAM.

Doesn't look like I'd save any money on the slower RAM anyways.

What brand of laptop is this? I might be lookin at a powerful one to get.. Must be powerful enough to run BF2 without any issues.. prefer nVidia all in it.

Don't laugh, it's a dell e1705. Can't beat the deal I found on this.

Technically, it's for wifey, but I wanted something I could use too.

The only other laptop I found w/ the 7900gs was a toshiba, but it was $500 more than what I paid.

I ran across http://www.killernotebooks.com which really intrigued me, but in the end I couldn't justify the extra grand for the 7900gtx.
Don't think that will be a problem for you though ;)

Not sure which one ur talkin' bout, but for the dell. I went to Home/Home Ofc and selected the base e1705 and added what I wanted. Then applied coupon code TG6D05MDH1HXS9. <-- 20% off

I was lookin at the Executioner on KillerNotebooks (that link's in post above)
Executioner starts out at $2500, but you could save money and buy a Clevo barbone and add the CPU, RAM, & HD. The barebone w/ 7900GTX is like $1500 or so.
