Proxy Server speed is capped

Proxy Server speed is capped

Hello

I am a university student.i use university proxy server to connect to internet.This proxy server is capped at a speed of 4 KB/sec for each LAN IP.
Is there anyway to un-cap it or get more than this speed by any method.I can pay whatever it costs to get more speed.If there is anyway plz tell me.
i cant buy a DSL connection or DIAL Up connection beacause they are not allowed in uni. hostel.Plz help me.I will be thankful.

Since your using a university network, it would seem that the cap was probably put in place by the administrator of the network. If that's the case, then there's probably not much you can do. They probably do this so that no one user can hog the bandwidth.

What is the name of your Uni? Looks like they are 20 years behind with their teaching resources. My 56K modem can get more speed at 5.5 KB/s. Time for your student body to act. If not, time to move out of the hostel.

I don't think its a matter of being behind. I think its more a matter of having the wrong ideas of how to ensure that one person can't eat up all the bandwidth on the network.

We do not support bypassing rules and settings implemented by network admins here. Many of us here are such network admins.

Nor is advertising ones own product/company with referral links allowed.(rule #4)

I hope your not addressing me. I don't have a product or company. I read the rules before I registered, and would not have put that link in my signature if I thought it was against the rules. Not only do I not have a product or company, I also am making no money from this site at all. It is simply a personal website.

can u plz tell me wats VPN n can it be used to access internet?
Is there anyway for me to buy an internet connection online which I can access behind uni. proxy server?
