APC sells the best UPS on the market...
The unit is not that expensive.. and the battery lasts a long time,
However that rechargeable battery a lot of times cost the same amount as the unit.

all in all.. pretty awesome... :thumb:

APC man! APC! :D

Of course..my house lost power...it's still out...so about 15 minutes later I shut down.

I'm onsite at a 911 call right now though....friggin stupid new girl at a payroll firm....I showed the boss here several times how to gracefully shut down the servers tonight if their building lost power. One of the new girls here..just walks up to the server...pushes the power button.

So I get a call a half hour later...."The server isn't booting back up".

So here I am....at their office..she's apologizing like crazy. Too bad...I'm gonna get her reamed tomorrow...especially when I turn my bill in. :rotfl:

The RAID controller didn't take kindly to that. Up and running now....time to groom the drives....quite a bit fragmented.

The one that thought she had a right to turn off the server? No...kinda...big. And loud. Walks 'n talks..err...rolls...like she knows it all too...annoying. She's only been here like 2 weeks. Now she's complaining about her workstation...Excel giving her grief. Too bad...I'm not here at 2 bills an hour for Excel crap...gonna finish nursing this server back to health and go home.

Server up and running fine about 2 hours later. :D

Spoke with manager yesterday...in her short stint there..I guess they weren't too pleased with her. This little jobber she pulled may have been the last straw..I think she's canned.
