Would be willing to switch out my modem even though there is nothing wrong with it?
It's a RCA DCM 215 almost six years old in another week.

probably not.. but you could just unhook it and call them and say your unit wont power up.. they will come out with a new unit and if your lucky switch it.

If you you can jsut go to a local comcast office and swap it out.
Bring in the modem and power cord.

Call and complain that they have not updated you to proper equipment.
If you need motivation, your boss was trained by Adelphia.

Probably not worth the hassle. Especially since I do not know what type of Modem I will get in return.

5120...love mine!
Picked it up on fleabay for something like 50 or 60 bucks. Plus in..call up ISP..read them the MAC..they remote in and provision it (push a config file into it)..reboot...BAM..online.

yeah that modem in on the end of life list {EOL} i would swap it automatically. you should have no problem getting another.
