200 acres on island is not 640 acres with mountains, rivers, forrest, huge population of bears, deers, mosses, elks and whatever else lives there
That property is wild, untouched, look at the river how clean it is

Waterfront is a finite commodity. :D

But living on an island is an ultra exclusive thing. Whole different want of life.

If the laws up there are like they are here, you probably don't want a road if you value your privacy.

A no trespassing sign is only a deterrent for someone who can read or isn't drunk or doesn't think the world is theirs for the taking.

i agree good boat would cost ya 40-60k and you are setup.
Meantime you can explore the area and during winter just use ski doo with gps so you dont get lost.

but i agree with De Plano, all what i would do there is build a log cabin, estabilish some food supplys and thats it.Leave me alone ! :D

Depends how you look at it. Could be a good thing..people that want privacy, want to be left alone, peace and quiet.

For some people..many people actually, that doesn't work for them. But for some others...it's a highly sought after thing. People that live on small islands..say with a population of several hundred==>under a thousand...it's very exclusive..to be called an "islander". It's a tight knit club.

Pain the butt having to take a ferry back 'n forth to mainland? Yeah..can be. But it's that very thing that also keeps the general public away. Keeps your island very "private". You're on a first name basis with most people, everyone knows everyone.

I couldnt do that ...i would like to move and travel accross or trespass another property lol,on island, what you gonna do ?Swimm with your gear on the head ,its like a prison, but like you said some people like it,i wouldnt.+ people living on small island in tight knit clubs ,well i like my privacy and i dont like being bothered so its like living in some appartment complex,it keeps general public away but it also keeps faces staring at ya in the windows (usually kids).
