Why post all of this Political stuff on here?
Why post all of this Political stuff on here?
I understand that people want to comment on some news story and stuff, because it makes them feel better.. but I think that whatever you post… there is going to be someone around, to post against whatever you are posting.. so what good does all of that do? It’s kind of like shaving.. then expecting someone to put gasoline on your face right afterwards… and lighting the match.. Maybe an idea is to post your views to vent, and have no one reply to your post? I don't know.. I guess, I don't like to see all my Speedguide pals get angry at each other..

You can post your opinions and raves on all the vapid pop culture indulgences if you want -- some of choose to go another direction.
Deal with it.

Maybe there should be two seperate fourms then? One for political real world issue topics and then one for comedy?

There is no inherent compulsion to read or reply to any thread, yet some here would like to see others muzzled for whatever reason it is they depise hearing an opposing viewpoint.

In 6 months of a separate section being created, you and others would be bitching about "personal attacks" and the same garbage you're whining about now.

That was my point on starting this thread.. I think you and Burke have some really good points about political topics. I guess I like to see everyone get along.. and maybe I shouldn't.. things in the real world are fuzzy bunnys and cute kittens...Ghosthunter wrote:..lets face it..even though i post..nothing ever gets solved..and all that happens is bad feelings come out of it

It's actually sometimes tough to go there....if you're observant about subtle motions and behavior/reactions in people. I'm going to the main office today..it's fine. But some of their "hide-away shelters"...where the severe abuse cases are hidden...sometimes you walk in there..they see a guy and jump back, or you see a fear in their eyes. It makes me very angry and sad...because you know that, in order for these women to get to this point...they went through a long time period of some arsehole boyfriend/husband beating the tar out of them. It's sad to see this.Prey521 wrote:Womens shelter with no AC? That must be the gathering place for all the stray cats!![]()

I hear that...my best friends wife works at one of those private shelters. He tells me that when he's there (works there as a driver), he gets weird looks and what not. Sad when a woman have to hide in a private shelter to escape from someone that supposedly loved themYeOldeStonecat wrote:It's actually sometimes tough to go there....if you're observant about subtle motions and behavior/reactions in people. I gotta say that I couldn't disagree more. I'm not going to leave this country just because I beleive that the current administration's agenda has no intent of serving me or my ilk, or that corporate interests are held in higher regard than the common folk's. I will voice my opinions, try and shed insight upon others, and vote with my conscience and my heart, and hope for the best.

IMO the administration hasn't changed...been that way for a looong long time. Not much has changes since we were tots, our parents were our age, or even they were tots. Administrations not serving peoples interests...and holding corporate interests higher than the peeps...that's old news. Only thing that's changed..is media being more squeeky about it..and able to get away with more, thus some people are squeeky about it.Blisster wrote:I gotta say that I couldn't disagree more. As terms go by in 4 year chunks..sure..there are subtle ups and downs..but the overall average...is, and always will be, the same ol' same ol'. That's the game.

There are always going to be some controversial issues out there, and people should be allowed to discuss them, as long as the tone remains civil. What shouldn't be allowed is, for the discussion to get out of hand -- flame wars and offensive behaviour is what has to be stopped, not discussing controversial issues/politics/religion/science/life/the universe, etc. (as long as people don't abuse the forums for propaganda, and spamming their beliefs).
