Cook or not he is a Marine. You never forget the training received. Those of us that have served in the military can contest to this.

All Marines are riflemen first, trained the same and certainly a bit cocky :thumb:

I suspect these attackers assumed an easy target being 4 on 1 with guns, but were probably a bit taken back when he decided that he didn't feel like being robbed that day.

The victim looks to be a minority. Without creating too much of a controversy, do we think that it may be a different story had he been a big white dude?

Death of the attacker is not the goal. Defending one's self against attack is. The woman would have been more aggressive or self assured against being hit because she is a woman but when the odds are 4 to 1 and some have weapons, you take care of the attack without regard to sex, religion or race. No one probably feels worse about killing someone (especially a woman) than the Marine. No one like to be forced to make that type of decision with no warning.

of course it would have been a different story ....that's the kinda crap that makes news and get people's names in the paper....ie: Sharpton, Jackson etc.

There was another news clip where a thief broke into a retired Marine’s house with a knife and tried to rob the Marine as he was watching TV. The Marine got out of his chair, took the knife from the thief and then stabbed the knife through the thief’s hand pinning it to the wood floor. The Marine then went to the phone and called the police.

The thief begged the Marine to let him go.. to pull the knife out of his hand. The retired Marine said “if you want to leave before the police get here, pull the knife out yourself”. He then sat down and watched the rest of the TV show until police arrived to take the thief away.

What was the show MadDoc? Did you have a sandwich too? Maybe some popcorn or chips before the cops showed up?
