Studio Computer Specs:

Post by reznog12 »

I'm shopping at newegg.com for the parts to build a solid computer system. I need to use the system for graphics and music production. I plan on using software like Pro-Tools, Cake Walk, FL Studio 6, Sound Forge, Cubase and Cool Edit. Below is a list of parts and prices I got from Newegg.com. Check it out and let me know if I'm on the right track. I'm open to suggestions for hgetting better parts and/or prices from other vendors:

If this is a professional studio that will bring you in money, I would go with an OEM like Dell and get the best warranty and exchange service they provide.

Also, you need WAAAAY more hard drive space than that. Scratch disk needs, samples and loop elements, uncompressed files, etc. will take up huge amounts of space. Also, more RAM, at least 2 GB, and the CPU is pretty weak for the kind of work you're talking about.

Thanks for the input Burke. I thought the CPU would cut it. I have revised the list. I also came across the public wishlist section at newegg which allows you to browse premade shopping carts of other computer gurus...pretty cool.
