I'm tired of spending 75 bucks a week in gas and currently have to travel twice as much, the gas is killing me financialy. So I must take action now.

Econo car? more so than my Dodge Ram..... check it...

Nice :thumb:

Make sure that its maintenance scheduling has been done thoroughly, especially the Timing Belt (ask David on this one very expensive).

i don't really understand how buying a new car will save you money on gasoline, yes in the long run but you put the price of the car toward gas and you would be good to go for quite a while. alot of people are complaining about 3 dollar gasoline. Okay so thats a buck over 2 dollars (which is considered low now), times that by your tank and you are paying a bit more than usual, but enough to justify an entire purchase of another car?

If it has been kept in impeccable condition (service wise) then it would be a cool car. Otherwise go for the Honda. You pay for the German cars in service and parts, not necessarily in initial price

Make sure EVERYTHING works flawlessy

There's more to it than that though.
What mileage are they getting now?
Are they done paying off the current car, or still making payments? Or just "sliding" their paymets to another vehicle with roughly the same monthly payment?
How much do they drive now? I sometimes have to fill up 3, even 4 times a week. Currently 50 bucks a pop! Granted the my fill ups go on the biz cc...but still.
Insurance..going from a big sport ute to a mid-sized...drop in insurance?

Example...I was thinking of trading in my Liberty for a new Caliber..still giving it some serious thought. Current vehicle gets 15 mpg, Caliber somewhere around 25-26 on the average based on what I'm reading in the Caliberforums. Now I'd lose a bout 3K delta in my trade in..so refinancing would shoot my monthly nut up a litte bit...but at least a 40% mileage savings at a 3x tank/week average would wash that off..and then some.

Very nice EA! What sort of mpg you think you'll get?

My fuel bills have dropped by more than $100 since I've started riding my motorcycle. :D 18mpg in the city to around 40mpg really helps the pocket. :thumb: Instead of $45 to fill up, it's only $8.
