how do i get a cable frequency

just bought a cable modem road runner wont let me use for there service so don't know what to do if i make the frequency the same as theres it will work

but the ??? is how do i get the frequency of the chanle ???????????

I have no freekin idea man but I suggest that you don't waste your time dude. Your better off just rentin the modem, its only 5 extra bucks a month, which is only 60 bux a year, so I think that you should just get your money back for the modem.

Cable (i should say High Speed data) frequency's are usually over 7200Mhz , I think.

The frequency isn't the issue. You must have a type of modem compatible with RR, and RR must set their network up to recognize it by its serial number or MAC address. There is no other way. I wouldn't even try, because your efforts will likely be regarded as theft of service.

You probably purchased a modem that either is not DOCSIS certified or that particular manufacturer's product is not certified by the coporate gurus at RR.The frequencies(there are two,a downstream for downloading,and an upstream for the return path)are irrelevant.That modem must be provisioned by their office to go online in their system.

well this is the story i got it working by figuring out the frequency of the chanle it was on the only thing was it didn't work like i wanted it to so i called rr for 2 resones first and probly the best i didn't want to go to jail and to to sign up :) so there all you freaks that thought i was going to jail
