I just bought a KVM Switch for 2 of my computers,
trying to only use one monitor, to save space..
Any of you use a KVM?
Just Wondering.

At work, we use an 8-port KVM. It uses 2 monitor/keyboard/mouse sets to control 8 stations. We build/repair DVR's and can have 2 techs working at one time on 8 units at once. It's great.
I do, have a 4 port belkin with usb and audio here at the house. I use mine on the work bench...lets me work on 4 pcs at one time. Bought it used with all the cables for 50 bucks...one of my best 'steals' over the years of trading.
I think I looked at KVM switch's before.. like a long time ago, and they
were big $$$money$$$ .
I've been using Remote Desktop or VNC or using one extra monitor for all of my other computers on my LAN.

APC for bigger cabinet setups, as well as some nicer Belkin models in some cabinets too.
For home, Linksys makes some of the best bang for the buck ones now.
I agree.
I've used the two port linksys kvm for about a year. I dont use the monitor switch because I have a multi-connection lcd. However, for km it's a smash-hit! I suffer from no lag in gaming and it makes troubleshooting other PC's a breeze. Simply hook it up and I can work on it whenever I get the chance.

I have used kvm in the past, but now have several 'headless' boxes at home and use UVNC to manage them. Only need an ip switch and cables for that. All the cabling for a 4port KVM mad me nuts...
anything is possible - nothing is free

Ya well that what I was doing, I was using Ultra VNC for my Linux boxes and RDP for my windows boxes.. but I can stand the cables.. I mean I have a rats net already LOL
This kvm seems to be doing well so far.. still got to test some stuff out

Ya - I reread your post - for two machines not so much an issue. I had 4 boxes on KVM and needed to add 3 more boxes - it was easier to keep some of the machines in other rooms and run a single uplink cat5 to a switch for the 'remote' boxes. Obviously get much better performance on a KVM if you are running graphics heavy apps.
