Your helping how? By furthuring the idea this a religous war? THat the soldiers are over there fighting Muslims because it is a religon of hate? That helps garner support for the U.S. in any Muslim country having people talk about that.

Seems that would hurt the U.S. soldiers efforts

I didn't say I was helping anything. I said: " we were helping a Muslim Nation out from under oppression". And we are. 77% of Iraqi's at the polls risking their lives for free elections. Those are Muslims too. So, I think that's good.
By furthuring the idea this a religous war?
I have no idea what you are talking about. Iraq? Terrorism? Afghanistan? what? What is a religious war?
THat the soldiers are over there fighting Muslims because it is a religon of hate?
They aren't fighting Muslims, they are helping Muslims to establish a Country with free elections and freedom from fear of being massacred for opposing Saddam.
That helps garner support for the U.S. in any Muslim country having people talk about that.
Yeah, get the wax out of your ears. Cause I ain't heard nobody talkin like that on this board.
Seems that would hurt the U.S. soldiers efforts
No, dissing the U.S. efforts in Iraq now is like tripping a soldier as he fights for the Iraqi people. I abhor it.

Look again at what I said. No sense in arguing with something that's a figment of your imagination.

The bottom line is this.....please do not look right in my eyes and say to me...
"True Islam is a religion of peace". Okay? That's simply a crock no matter why they are rioting in France!!!!

What do you care how anyones statment's go over with Muslims? All I care about is supporting our efforts in Iraq, and last time I looked we were helping a Muslim Nation out from under oppression. And we can thank people like Baghdaddy and others.

Why don't you get your life in order before you tell the rest of us religious types what would make this world better. Just go six months without a whine and maybe I'll listen to yer views on religion.

OK, I guess I made a leap from insulting someone elses relgion and saying you don't care what they think of being insulted as being anti-muslim.

Islam has serious cultural problems that has costs many lives in the past few decades.

If you want to say it's my fault, go for it. But, what you may wish to do is bone up on Middle East History before you do. Islam has no cultural problems, the peoples of the North Africa to Near East expanse do have them. Why do you suppose that is the case? Is it their religion or colonialization? Is it their laws or Western countries muddling their affairs? It is their prayers or the general poverty?

Well even the pres has said it himself...we are Occupiers. There was never any liberation from the get-go. As much as Im not into Michael Moore the statement was made and you can see it in his movie with a video snippet.
As far as the soldiers go..right now Im in support of the Soldiers staying alive and getting their asses home safe and sound and not staying there for another day...I support them 100%. If wishing for them to stay in a place where they shouldn't be, is supporting them, then I don't know what to say.

Who are you to judge me? I am a pretty decent person; but I'm not going to bow you your judgement of me.

Islam, to my way of thinking is not a "religion of peace" as they tout themselves to be. Sorry if that ruins your day, but it does not make me a bad person.

Prolly sounded like I was, but I'm not blaming Islam for the disruptions in France. I have a more complex view of the situation than I appear to have here.

And of course, you make perfect sense in what you say. In an indirect way, however, I am discouraged that the problem is with Muslims. I will be watching these events with great interest.

Make up your mind which is it? Do you care or not care?

I'm still trying to figure out how you can speak for all Muslims?

I'm of the Christian faith and I certainly can't speak for all Christians. I have no idea how I could speak for a single Muslim.

I also disagree with your philosophy about Muslims. My own personal view of all this is it's fundamentalism. What difference if it's Christian or Muslim? Fundamentalism still dangerous.

A very good friend of mine, once PM'd me with this thought....
Fundamentalism will be the death of us all.

fun·da·men·tal·ism n.

1. A usually religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and often by intolerance of other views and opposition to secularism.
2.
1. often Fundamentalism An organized, militant Evangelical movement originating in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th century in opposition to Protestant Liberalism and secularism, insisting on the inerrancy of Scripture.
2. Adherence to the theology of this movement.

n : the interpretation of every word in the sacred texts as literal truth.

I'll take 2.-1. for a 1000 Alex. But then you already knew that. In this case, David, I can't find a discription for a militant fundamentalists that applies to any religion besides Christian, although it certianly fits the bill for a few of them. No?

Living with a few of that discription around me, I think I'm somewhat qualified to say.....all of them are too hard headed to see the damage they do upon their beliefs. Muslim or Christian.

Downhill, I am not speaking for all Muslims. I am speaking about the religion of Islam. And what have I said that is so offensive?

Islam will never be the religion of peace until Muslims make it so. Thus far, they have not. They may be working on it. Good for them. LOL I love people who are Muslims, but I do not love people because they are Muslim. Same with Christians.

I guess I'm not politically correct to say exactly how I feel.

What I am really enjoying though is that the very same folks who don't want me judging Islam are judging me. Funny how some people think.

Maybe some are. Are you also judging them? It's the general fourm. Debate, spamage, and rampant chaos all mixed into a huge mixing bowl and served with a sprinkle of sarcasm.

For me, no judging here, just enjoying the debate.

You do know, there was a time when the Muslim world said the same of the Christians? Maybe it's persepective where you live. What would you say those living in Palastine and of the Muslim faith, think of Christians?
