Of course we all remember and love Desert Combat...it's what brought us together.
I remember spending many many nights with you all, my friends, playing this great game.
Well...it's almost here, back again for another stay on our server, but this time, it's BF2 style! The mod is called Desert Conflict.
Desert Conflict may prove to be the first BF2 mod to make it into the community and I really want us to host this on our server.
The Desert Conflict team will be bringing back all the old original DC maps....and to show just how serious they are, they have released a promo vid for the Battle Of 73 Eastings!!!!!!!!
You can download and watch this incredible vid here:
I recently watched a special on the History Channel about tank warfare..and of course towards the end it talked about recent tank battles, and had a segment on the actual Battle of 73 Eastings. Was cool to see the origins of one of my favorite maps.
Man, Faust SCSI Dude and I used to love holding down that first flag with the mobile howys!
MORNING WOOD Lumber Company
Guinness for Strength!!!
i cant say im really that interested in it considering BF2 does the modern combat thing for me just fine. im more interested in Forgotten Hope 2, which will surely kick severe amounts of ass.

BF2 is actually pretty good. Playing on random pub servers sucks. But there is a group of about 6-12 of us that play regularly. Nothing like being in a jet, and having one of your teammates say to you on there is a tank here. Then I say back spot him out for me. The spot comes in I swing in for a bombing run and boom! Help out my ground pounders. nothing beats it.
BF2 itself as a game is way ahead of BF1942 in terms of fun. It was just a little to slow paced for me. I will definately be downloading the "DC" mod, if for no other reason then to see how it compares to the original DC mod that made BF1942 so pleasant for me.
Not to mention, things like SCUDs and the like would be nice to have back.
