19 inch LCD help...
I seem to have lost my MaxiumPC mag with the 19 inch LCD shootout.
I may be in the market but am not sure of what specs I'm supposed to be looking for.

Best thing I would suggest is check techbargins for the 19" and the 20" LCD deal codes they throw up for the Dells.. you can find a 20" wide or regular with codes and get one for around 380$ or maybe even less not sure what they are going for now. But that would be the best option if I were you.. your looking for good quality and them Dell LCD's are great! I have a 19" and a 24" Wide screen.
response time is also good.. and they are mostly around 16ms to 12ms which the lower it is the better. Both of mine are at 12ms I think.
Also you want to look at the Ultrasharp versions of them too!

I have that issue. The Viewsonic VP191b took top honors and it's low price is extremely attractive.downhill wrote:I seem to have lost my MaxiumPC mag with the 19 inch LCD shootout.

I looked at them view sonics once when I was in the market for my LCD's but for the price and what you get the Dells beat it out..
add a few coupon deals from techbargins or fatwallet and you can get a 20incher for like 400$ thats almost 100$ less than that VS plus the specs are about the same if not better..
Here ya go check out this:

I've looked high and low and couldn't find that issue. Dunno what happened to it. The article doesn't seem to be on the web site either.

Dell buys most of their LCD model screens from Samsung....I believe all of their models lately.Shaggy wrote:How about the Dell 2005fpw 20" lcd. Its a Benq or a LG philips rebrand, don't remember. Perhaps they still use them on the 20 inchers, haven't been around a 20" model lately to take a look....I just know most of their models have swung to Samsung, as the Dell 24" model is a Samsung, and I read Apples big LCDs are also.Shaggy wrote:Im not sure about everything else but the 2005fpw is a LG Philips panel. Its the same panel Apple uses as well.

The 2405 is based off the samsung 204t with a few changes (dell brand is improved slightly). The 2005fpw, link above. I haven't heard anything good about other dell lcd's. Then again I have a viewsonic 15" lcd I bough from burke about 2 or 3 years ago and I've had 0 problems

Have the vp171 and vp191 - rock solid. Highly recommended.downhill wrote:LG is big time up and coming in the LCD/Plasma market.
YeOlde...if the Dell is a rebagered Samsung, I think I'll keep an eye out on a huge sale for the Viewsonic VP191b that UOD listed.

Picked up the same for $ 479.00 to my door. Excellent monitor ! I had to have one with a native resolution of 1600 x 1200.loop2kil wrote:Another great monitor...i have the 2001fp and love it.
To me the ms speeds are misleading. Everyone measures the speed different. Go with what looks good to the eye.
