So what tweak and where did you get it man?

u actauly belive him when he says
** Speed 5756(down)/6659(up) kbps **
no one gets 6659 up...Im on OOL and i get 1mbps up, and 6mbps down, and no service is faster, and no tweak will change that.

emixnem, there is no way your getting those speeds. Pac Bell only has 2 speed packages, 384kbps-1.5mbps/128kbps and 1.5-6mbps/384kbps.

According to DSLR, your getting 6.6mbps up, which isn't even possible w/either of PB's offerings.

Try clearing your browser's cache, then run the test again. BTW, how much do you pay per month and how far are you from your CO?

I agree with you, but the first post actualy calculates out to be true. 1MByte file at 3.1mbits/s would take 2.5 sec to download
Michfan

Post by Michfan »

its not that hard tho to do those calculations, and what dsl gives that? besides that sites speed tests are way off..the dslreports is usualy not bad, but as i said b4, those speeds are to far off.

LOL! Uploads way fater than downloads? Image Image
M8, dont freak out, the speed site is not reflecting your true speed Image I always get 3.50-4 MBPS in bamazed and about 70x faster than 56k in dsl reports but I know somehow, my connection is a bit slower than that.

Just checked out PacBell, service is 1.544mbps and they have an example of a 1MB video clip that they say would take 5 sec to download. So emixnem is downloading twice as fast as his service allows.

What thats a good speed but I get this as my average out of my 1.5mbps from PPPoE DSL connection with a patch..
So emixnem What patch you use to double it up I usually start out at 5000.0k-bits/sec(500KB/sec) then finish at 214KB/sec...

Then why would you think you were capped at 1.5mbps? That still doesn't explain your fictional upload. I have seen those exact figures on another post.
** Speed 5756(down)/6659(up) kbps **
(At least 115 times faster than a 56k modem)
Logging result
Finish.
Those figures are from "goose" who is on a T3 from the !! Everyone Post Their Speeds Here !! post.

Why does every1 use those damn inaccurate speed tests
To test your speeds just goto a very fast site like happypuppy.com and download one of their 100+ MB demo games
See what kind of sppeds you can sustain throughout the download
Their servers are damn fast so whatever you get their should reflect your speeds
Forget those damn speed tests!!!

As far as I know it uses Radiate. Maybe the newer versions of Go!zilla don't have any spyware.Check it out here http://www.spychecker.com/index.html

or use this program (Ad-Aware)to check for spyware http://www.lavasoft.de/aaw/index.html

Azazel, you missed what I said. ADSL has a max UPLOAD of 648 kbps.

I doubt you are getting those speeds. Most of those speed test are not very reliable. You my be getting close to those speeds. No Offense, But if you did use a tweak why won't you let anyone else know. Why make them keep asking you. When Iam sure they have helped you out before. I don't get those kind of speeds all the time and Iam on cable. So I know you can not be getting them all the time. Maybe late at night , but not during the busy hours.

Hmm, Azazel, thing is, Sprint advertises that, but thats the maximum, which you'll never reach because ADSL technology limits upload to 640 kbps.

Well, nice result but i have to think that its not correct, or the applet has made some runtime errors and given false results.
That has happened to me too!. Now some off topic chit chat.

Im running to Windows Operating Systems, Win98 and Windows Pro. 2000 and on Win98 i get slower download troughput but faster upload speed than on Win 2k. Kinda weird.
But its my registry settings i guess. Image

I have some friends around the world, and few of them has Cable modem and their upstream reaches to 60 k/s. So, its possible to have faster upstream but the ISP decides that either to have it capped lower or keep it faster until its necessary to lower the speed, and that usually depends on how many users/customers the company has. I had the upstream on 6 months ago at 20 k/s and now its around 15 k/s because more people use the service, it dont bother since all i do is play online games mostly.

Have a glorious day!

Both of those tests are notorious for showing inaccuarte results. In fact, MS has already come out and stated that their test is worthless.
