Prayers needed
My father has been back in the hospital for over a week now. He has a shunt in his chest for dialysis and the doc wanted to put one in his arm because they feel that the results would be so much better. Well, they did that a few months ago and the artery collapsed. They tried to use a balloon to open it up but it did not last so the shunt had to be removed.
Last week, he was scheduled to have a new shunt put in his upper arm this time around to see if that would work. They could not do the surgery because my father's heart rate dropped from 68 to 36. They admitted him right away. At first, they thought it was the medications so they took him off and monitored him for a few days. It was still low. Now he has a pacemaker which he got on Monday. So now the heart rate has been corrected.
Thank God my mother was in his hospital room yesterday. He was taking a nap and started twitching in his sleep. He usually does that, but this time around, he was doing it more than usual. Then he broke out into a major sweat. My mother ran out to the nurses station to tell them. To make a long story short, his blood sugar dropped. He was going into shock and was not even responding to the nurses. It took them a while to get him back to normal. He is very lucky that my mother was there otherwise he could have died.
He could use prayers for sure. Thank you.

Good point. Unfortunately, his stubborness works against him. He is 75 years old. He won't change.Sarahnn wrote:Prayers going up Debbie......
Wonder why he had low sugar at that point? I'd want to know, if it was my Dad.
I like yer Dad's stubborness and he's got to work it to his advantage. (like you worked the stubborness you got from yer Dad to quit smoking!) hehe

prayers on the way.....
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
