I'm in clearwater using RoadRunner. A couple of days ago I got intouch with RR helpdesk to find what my download/upload caps are. They told me there were none in place for my area.
Heres the questiions :
1. What does an uncapped cablemodem actually mean?
2. What type of download speeds are theoretically possible ?
3. Any idea what my registry settings should be to take advantage of this ? eg: what value should go in my RcvWindow, TTL, basically whats the best settings?
martin777 - wow, those speeds are Fast. I tried running the speed test at dslreport.com but its nothing like yours. Mine usually says the connection is at least 35 times faster than 56k.
Would you mind posting or emailing me your registry settings.
I have tried so many different settings now, but I never seem to break a download averaging 230KB/sec. Now I'm thinking RR got it wrong when they said my area is uncapped. I wish my DSL report showed 100+ times faster than 56k.
230k/s is a great speed considering the fact that I can barely get 180k(my cap) and that's only when downloading from an OC connections....enjoy the speeds why they last man.
