I had an e-mail today from a man I've never heard of before, and he said I had e-mailed him and my e-mail contained a virus. I have heard of this happening and I've recieved e-mail from my cousin's e-mail address that contained a virus, although she didn't really send it . I know a virus can send e-mails to everyone in your address book, but I don't know this guy and he isn't in my address book. So what does it mean ..... do I have a virus ? I'm not sure what to do. I scanned my computer and it didn't find anything. If anyone can explain how this happens, I'd appreciate it. Thanks !
Someone with your address in their address book has the virus and they are sending it out. You can see how this would snowball.
Not much you can do till they realise and fix the problem. By then others have been infected and if your address is in theirs as well you will get more.
Email the guy and tell him it wasn't you.
