Welp, I my router throws off DU Meter but I usually get 722 kB/down and 128 kB/up. So, I'm hovering right around with my Optimum Online connection.
Post again after the put their caps in place. @Home has a woody for those 128 kb upload caps.

Heh i thought your connections was gonna be like 1MB+
That speed is nothing to brag about
This pic was taken awhile ago, notice i sustained that speed throughout the 130+MB file download

Image

I'm pretty sure i can still download at 800KBytes+ or maybe even 900+
Let me know a server where i can download that fast and i will take another updated screenshot

Anyways, OOL probably can rock mine. You guys are probably on your own nodes with a T3 as your backbone.

Test running..........
** Speed 7266(down)/1530(up) kbps **
(At least 145 times faster than a 56k modem)
Logging result
Finish.

use ftp.newaol.com/aol to test your speeds, none of you will ever be able to max out that line

Optimum Online is great when it comes to splitting it's nodes. It keeps the total number of people lower then @Home, and is one reason why they can leave their upload cap much higher. I know in Long Island, where the service has almost been available 2 years, people are still getting these speeds.

You cant split a node! Nodes are nodes, its how the cable tv system is setup, you cant divide them or make new ones.

yes you can, you can take people off and put them on a new node...lol..and your pics seem to be very early in the dl, so why dont u show a pic say during the middle or end? yea thats cause u never really got those speeds...on ool i can get a burst well over 1MB/s of our ftp..then it drops a little...

Just no. You cant. They're not going to move your lines to another city bro.

They arent early into the download, its like 26 megs into the 75 meg file. Like to see another picture?

I also get 1MByte/sec from ftp1.optonline.net and ftp.gamesdomain.com during peak periods :)

That's not a burst, that's my avg for a 50MB+ file.

200 to 500 people I think are on our nodes.
I can get around 1MB/sec off ftp1.optonline.net and almost those speeds off the AOL ftp.

oh, i never trust the peak speed reading in dumeter. I have seen bursts before that make no sense. I don't think its accurate many times.
