You will have to be a little more specific for an answer to any particular question.

Id assume they still use some kind of greenscreen...

I dont know a huge amount about it, I did some work with premiere for my Uni course last year and will be using it again this year along side my 3d module.

We use 3DsMax rather than Maya though...

If you find out let me know :D
greenscreen maya

as in something rendered on a green background? TO put say a model of an alien into a film, rather than the characters from a film being put into a backdrop?

I do believe they use the green screens to do backgrounds and such.

As far as objects moving on the screen and such, can't you use AfterEffects from Adobe? That is kind of the post-production/special effects program.

I wish I could tell you how to use it, but I could never figure it out.

i no the basics of maya (ie, creating objects, and animating them) but wut is greenscreen maya. You mean you can import a video into maya as the background and have objects move in them?

Also, I could never get how to make backgrounds and such in Maya. All i figure out was doing objects, making them move, craeting textures for the objects, etc.

And how do people apply the various textures on an object (i.e. a Face)?

Thanks for your help. If you could, give specific instructions, that i can follow in maya. Including the greenscreen stuff. Thanks for your help.
