What do you guys think of Microsofts successor to the Xbox, Xbox 360?

for those of you who don't know what Xbox 360 is, here's a link to cnn giving a quick run down of it.

i think the graphics are pretty sweet, and a progressive scan dvd player is a definite plus

Finally HDTV is standard.

Beyond that, it all still boils down to the games.

And so far, most of what I'm seeing is: second verse, same as the first.

I'm sure I'll love it anyway.

yes I sure hope it will reasonably easy to mod. That one of the main reasons I bought one.

They seem to be going out of their way to stop that modability.

From what people are saying hte ps3 is gonna be almost two times as powerful, if you believe that....kinda hard to believe. Will be weird playing xbox knowing there is another console out there with better graphics, im used to the box being the best!

I'm gonna try to wait and see what the games are like....

who am i kidding ill probobly be first in line...

I always wait for a must have game before buying a new console. i.e. Final Fantasy, Halo And never bug test for Sony always wait for the revision.

LOL whered yo hear the that PS3 is gonna be two times as powerful? At a Sony Press conference?

I'm sure they'll be right on par with one another.

actually it is only 1.7 times as powerful

Many of the developers are quite impressed with the PS3 dev kits, but as usual, time will tell. Either way, both systems will probably kick major ass.

This is also Sony using their same playbook from when the Dreamcast came out...

the xbox 360 has 3 cores, the ps3 will have 8 (assuming it uses the cell chip they've unveiled). that's 2.666 times more. more info about the ps3 "cell" chip can be found here:

yeah but the hardware is only as powerful as the software that utilizes it.
