System or Network Administrator Needed

Post by ChrisB8084 »

Okay the reason i need a system or network administrator is i have this school project i have to get done using Microsoft Access. It's due in about 2 weeks or so im trying to get a little head start on it. I have to create a database using what a system or network adminstrator logs. I dont know any in my city so i thought i would ask on here cause i know there has to be one on here so if anyone could help me out it would be really really appricated :)

Here is the objective of the assignement:

Objective

As a computer professional, you will be required to keep records on things, processes and events dealing with your information technology career. Utilizing a database is the most efficient and productive way of keeping records. This case study is designed to give you experience creating a database similar to one that you may be required to design sometime during your career. Here are some information technology ideas for a database that you can create for this project:

- Log the “jobs” you perform as a network troubleshooter, including who you helped, what department in the company they are located in, their address, the type of job, the billing rate per hour or day, how long it took, special notes, etc.
- Log the websites you have created for clients, including who you developed them for, what type was developed, the time it took, their address, the rate you charge, special notes about its development, etc.
- Log the “programs” you create as a programmer, including who you developed them for, what department they are in, the type of program, the billing rate per hour or day, their address, how long it took, special notes, etc.

Guess I'm not really sure of the question. It says "create a database" "here are some ideas"

What specifically are you lookin' for help with?

Easy peasy.

You need to decide what you want to track. Let's say:
"Homework Assignments and Class Projects"

Then you need to decide what your elements are:
When Due (priority)
Status (Complete or not)
Special Notes (additional sub tasks or other info)

Then keep a log for a week or so. Turn in, get A. Functionally the idea is to get you used to tracking your work efforts. I am constantly walking around with a pad of paper and a handwritten list of the tasks I have to accomplish. It's my "handheld" database. This is to get you used to that.

Basically, it's about time management.

It's necessary, because otherwise you get bogged down in minutae and immediate emergencies and never get any work done on your long term stuff.
