Kaspersky antivirus

Post by Dark_Regent »

This is a question for mnosteele52. I downloaded and installed Kaspersky antivirus to try it out. Now my problem. As soon as I got it installed and restarted my pc it killed my internet connection. I then uninstalled it and redid my avg antivirus and all was ok. Have you ever had this problem or heard of it with Kaspersky?

Yes, it's an easy fix. There are a number of firewalls that KAV conflicts with, KAV uses a port filter on certain ports and must be disabled if you are using Sygate or some other firewalls.

To disable it, open KAV and select settings - configure real time protection - troubleshooting - the top options select disable protection from network attacks. Once you have done that reboot and your connection will be fine.

Thank you I will give it a shot. :D

PS. Ok I got it to working and have my net connection back also. Now for my next question. I have my sygate set at normal. In this mode Kaspersky cannot connect to get updates. I have to set my sygate to allow all. Is there anything I can do to allow Kaspersky acces for updates but keep sygate in normal mode?

Just give KAV permission when Sygate asks.
