ATI Catalyst 5.1 drivers

Post by ITALIAN_GUY_20 »

Hello there Speedguide Users and Members and to all you ppl out there that use Radeon Cards.

I might be the only one or this might have afected others, but the New ATI Catalyst 5.1 Drivers wont allow you to install it because it says "setup will only run in Administrator mode, setup is aborting".

Am I the only one that has gotten this message or not?
And is there a way of getting around it?

I tried going into the Administrator mode and it still won't allow me to install the drivers, even though my mode is Administrator mode (what else would it be).

So I leave it up to you to get me out of this "rutt" (if you can)

thanx again your Life Time Member ITALIAN_GUY_20.

I assume it's for XP Pro as listed in your profile.
Go in and check the permissions you have set under your account and adjust them accordingly so you have full system access and privileges.
This can be done under user accounts to some degree, but more so in administrative tools.
If you don't have admin privileges you can attempt to create a new admin account in an account which does.

I am already a FULL administrator, I am the only one that uses the computer.
And even when I do change from my account to the computers default administrator account it still won't allow me to install the driver.

It doesn't matter anyway the Omega Drivers (2.5.97a) works better. But I guess I still wouldn't mind knowing how good to new 5.1 drivers are.

thanx anyway.
