Good choices, although the stock AMD fan is plenty good.

Just buy the retail version then, it's only a few bucks more.

well i just found it,

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductde ... 501&DEPA=1

but it's a lil bit more then a few bucks more..

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 499&depa=1

for about 10 or 15 more he could get any heat sink he wants and over clock it if he ever wanted to..

Are you KIDDING me? $23 whole dollars? And you ain't gonna get a big overclock out of a $15 heatsink, period.

With a retail CPU, you ALSO get a 3-year warranty.

well, what I was planning on doing is getting the oem with the 1 year extended warrenty for $12 more, and then get a thermalright xp-90 heatsink with a Sunon 92x92x25 49cfm fan so I could overclock without overheating.

Well you already have a plan. Go for it.

I say always buy retail, but whatever.
