EQ2 is best MMORPG to date

Post by Ghosthunter »

Hands down no question...I have played all of the MMORPG's out there...from UO to EQ1, to AO, AC1/AC2 to Shadowbane, to COH and whatever else is out there..LOL

I have never ever been so addicted to a MMORPG...my wife and I are arguing now becuase she complains I am on the computer too much..LOL..another reason why I have not been to speedguide too much.

The depth in the game is amazing, especailly once you hit level 20+

I am also an alchemist, just hit level 21...and I am having so mcuh fun with the crafting system and I am not a crafter, never did crafting in any other MMORPG becuase it was so mudane and boring not in EQ2.

If anyone has been hesitating to play or wait...trust me not only did the game have a superb launch compared to WoW, server stability is excellent and lagfree...but go get it now.

The only con I can see is if you are into PVP...becuase there is none and no plans ever. But Everquest for me was never about PVP, and to be honest it doesnt matter to me either way...but if you are a big PVP player dont get EQ2

It does take a while to level but I am glad...I dont want to be levle 50 in a month...unlike WOW where there are level 40+ first week it came out and max level is only 60

I'm still in EQ and probably will be for a while. At this point it will be a year before I hit 70... And by that time i'll have twice as many classes so probably no more EQ... I'll put my 70 Necro on my GF's account and give up on games. :(

A HOT one that I actually met through... EQ! We don't play much anymore though, school and spending time together pretty much eats up gaming time. ;)

Yes this game is freakin amazing ... I am in the Same addiciton boat :

Lvl 24 Swashbuckler
Lvl 10 Scholar ( Just started on the Crafting on Friday )
Oasis Server

I am currently hunting the Lvl 10 Scholar Recipe Scroll. Is this a dropped item only ? As in I have to buy from the market ? Or can I buy from an NPC somewhere ?

The interesting thing is that I left Crafting alone thinking I would be bored to tears but it's just as addiciting as Battling. Now I am slowing down my Adventure leveling because I'm spending so much time crafting :)

The games marketing system and Quests is fantastic . The Animations are gorgeous and exciting.

I am loving my roll as a Swashbuckler where there is no boring Sit back hi this button then this one etc ...

Mine is strictly positional based with some good tanking ability. So I'm always on the move and getting ready to unleash the wrath.

The other night We had no tank , so I tanked all night against the Cetnuars near Tower three in the Thundering steppes :)

I've talked to many that chose Range ( my original choice ) who said they are disapointed and not what they thought it would be. Glad I went Rogue instead :)

GH , I'm sorry I never got back to you that day you messaged me. We were in a big battle hunting the Armor Quests and I got distracted with not much time to chat.

Np at all...

I am still loving the game...it is too addicitng

Right now I hit level 21 wizard/25 alchemist

I love the crafting in the game though I admit it takes a lot of time up thus why I slowed down in the levelling dept..but that is fine I have plenty of gold to afford anything I want practically..in fact got this nice robe as an upgrade

Liandrin's Oracle Robe -
- Armor Class 65 at L26
- Strenght +2, Intelligence +5
- Disease +8, Magic +5
- Health +6, Power +18
- Usable at L21

I am skipping most of the armor quests except to help out other guildmembers..because most of it not very good..not a lot of INT..and I have better stuff anyway. Most of my armor cons orange now.

If I were you I would go alchemist..every single crafting class needs something from them..while you dont make too many finsihed products you will make good money selling to other crafters since you do lot of high volume

To get the level 10 scholar book, you need to join a scholar society in any one of the cities. Once you do, you can buy the books from the merchant in there

Heheh Alchemist was exatly my Plan :)

Our Guild has a shortage of those and I can make my own poisons for my Blades :)

I have joined a society but The Vender in there only seems to sell level 3-9 Books.

It's the Stockpilers society in Willow wood. I wanted to leave that one and join the Alcehmists but it keeps telling me I can't :(

Could it be that now that I'm level 10 they will allow me to switch ?

I joined the Stockplilers when I first arrived not knowing how important the different ones might be. Now I seem tp be lcked into that one.

Maybe as a Scholar I can leave my current one and join the one I want ? Hopefully ?

Have you officialy hit level 10 and called a scholar? You talked to that NPC in queynos harbor to become a scholar?

Also in every home city there are 4 different socities

Scholar
Craftsman
Outfitter
Wholesaler

The wholesaler one anyone can join n matter level or what kind they are.

You then have to find the speciicf one for your trade. They will only allow you to join if right class so no worry about picking wrong one.

Now there was a bug when game first came out you had to leave wholesaler to join the specialized one, but i think they fixed that because I am a member of both.

Try the one in Nettleville, it is called tradewind sages and is located inside the scribe shop. There is a door all the way to back. That one I am a member of.

Other one i use to go to is in baubblshire right behind the bank

Sweet , I am now officially a Scholar , so I should be able to get into the one I need in Willow wood :)

What level now? and what class plan on being? Also you on queynos or freeport side?

I only know about queynos.

But best advices it to explore the cities and click on any NPC you find and they will give you quests that are self explanatory and many times gives you nice exp..and good loot or items

From level 1-15 think I just did quests to level..then after that went to Blackburrow with a group whcih was a lot of fun

ok at level 9 you need to do your class quest before you can hit level 10 and become a sorceror

once you hit levle 19 you can do your last class quest to be a wizard.

To become a sorceror go to south queynos and look for the mage tower..i dont remember the guy name but right outside the tower is this huge tree..there is an NPC there think he a gnome..really dont recall he will give you the mage quest...when you finsih that it probably will level you to 10..and is pretty cool
