Have we become so lazy that taking two minutes out of our time to push a crosswalk button (paid for with our tax dollars might i add) isnt worth it anymore? I have seen more jaywalkers than i have crosswalkers. ITs bad enough that they are crossing where they shouldnt. But know they also have the audacity to saunter when they should be walking swiftly. Plus consider this: Do you really think that if you are hit by a car, that not being in the crosswalk at the time it happened is really going to help you? You will end up paying them for hitting you!!! Have some common sense people
PS: This is kind of a continuation to that Do you follow pedestrian signals thread.
Now time for my regret: I have just jaywalked an intersection because it was too hot outside for me to wait for the light. I got some drivers plowing into the crosswalk like they were mad as hell. Once I got to the other side, I appologized to the traffic light, and now im worried because i just talked to an inanimate object!
The Pedestrians always have right of way law should be revised to pedestrians have right of way only with the walk signal.

LOL
Dude your giving it way to much thought.
lol
If someone gets blasted by a car not using the crosswalk then they have created there own demise.
Lazy people are the worst i know im lazy lol
In Arizona they do work, but not all lights even HAVE buttons. But when they do have buttons you have to press it to get your signal, most DUMB people would cross with the green light, while the pedestrian signal has the hand.

LMAO, being that I have an intake, when I step on the gas, it roars, you should see the looks on their faces when they see that I am not slowing down!!!

There is one advantage to living in my state. The law says you cant jaywalk, and if the car hits a jaywalker, the jaywalker DOES NOT, I REAPEAT DOES NOT have right of way. I watched a short clip about pedestrian signals on the Public Service channel (I dont think many people even watch that channel anyway ) It says cars have right of way when they are walking against the light/walking while not in a crosswalk. And pedestrians have right of way when they are in a crosswalk/walking with the light. I think the problem is that there are not many crosswalks where there are a TON of pedestrians, and that leads to jaywalking. But in california, the law seems to protect pedestrians, by having MORE LAWs against cars, and NO LAWS against pedestrians. With the exception of sanfrancisco where a cop stops you and fines you $127

Those kinda laws work well in small cities and are easy to enforce in a small city, but nearly impossible to enforce in big metro cities.

Pedestrians should have he right of way.
Besides bikes arent ANY safer when they dont obey ANY traffic laws and pretty much do as they please, but low and behold they think they have the right to ride in traffic with cars
Well I just jaywalked a 6 lane intersection and since I have a crosswalk fetish, I prompty applogized to the traffic light, and pushed the button and crossed the road correctly twice at the same crosswalk I jaywalked (One going back to where I started, and one going back to my destination), and I think the stoplight got soo mad, that the hand turned into a real human hand and slapped me...or was that my own hand slapping myself? Then it accepted my applogy and showed me a walking man

something is done at those rowdy college campuses where dumb college kids who love to vandalize school elevators and stuff are getting fined $20 for jaywalking. I say it should be the same amount as running a red light.

Look at that pic...Now you KNOW that if that chick was a hottie she wouldnt be getting that ticket.

I pretty much try to use the cross walk button everytime I cross the street here..if available, but that doesn't always help, some a$$holes ignore the crosswalk and have come very close to hitting me, but I suppose me being in a wheelchair doesnt help much...but still, do they have to park directly on top of the damn crosswalk when then can clearly see I am trying to cross the street?

HowlingPhoenix: Now I hate it when they freacking park ontop of the crosswalk! Sure i know they anticipate the green light way too early, some red light spikes will solve the problem , when the lights red, severe tire damage spikes popup, and this way, no one will dare park ontop of the crosswalk
